Neurodivergent & Autism-Affirming Therapy

Online therapy in English for autistic, ADHD and otherwise neurodivergent adults in Spain. You don’t need to be fixed. You deserve support that takes your nervous system, communication style, sensory world and lived experience seriously.

When the world keeps asking you to perform

You may have spent years learning how to look fine — rehearsing conversations, hiding sensory distress, copying social rules, forcing productivity and recovering in private. The effort can be so constant that you only notice it when you hit shutdown, burnout or the point where ordinary tasks suddenly feel impossible.

Affirming therapy doesn’t start from the assumption that neurodivergence is the problem. It looks at the interaction between your needs, your environment, your history and the expectations placed on you.

What we might explore

There’s no fixed agenda — we start where it matters to you.

  • Masking and the fear of being seen as “too much” or difficult

  • Autistic or ADHD burnout and fluctuating capacity

  • Executive functioning, task initiation and transitions

  • Sensory overwhelm and genuine recovery needs

  • Emotional regulation and rejection sensitivity

  • Identity after diagnosis, self-identification or late discovery

  • Relationships, communication and self-advocacy

  • Shame built up over years of being misunderstood

You don’t need a formal diagnosis

You’re welcome whether you have a diagnosis, are on a waiting list, identify with neurodivergent experiences or are still questioning. Therapy can support self-understanding and practical needs. (This service does not provide formal autism or ADHD diagnostic assessment.)

A practical, ACT-based, collaborative approach

Sessions can combine emotional exploration with concrete adjustments: mapping energy and sensory load, redesigning routines, preparing communication, noticing all-or-nothing expectations, clarifying values and finding rest that actually restores you. I lean on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy — less “is this thought true?”, more “is it helping you right now?”, which tends to land better than being told your worries are imagined.

Special interests and geek culture are welcome. Think of a favourite anime character everyone just lets be themselves — that’s the energy. Your interests are sources of regulation, identity and joy, not distractions to remove.

Therapy that leaves room for your communication style

You can ask for clearer questions, extra processing time, written prompts or a more structured session. You don’t have to hold eye contact, perform a particular emotion or explain yourself in a neurotypical way. We’ll sort out accessibility preferences in the consultation.
