Therapy and Coaching for Life Transitions
Big changes can be wanted, necessary and still deeply unsettling. Online sessions can help you make sense of what you’re leaving, what you’re moving towards and who you’re becoming along the way. I work in English with adults in Spain and with expats and internationals around the world.
When the old version of life no longer fits
A transition can strip away the routines, roles and relationships that used to tell you who you were. You feel excited one moment and overwhelmed the next. Decisions get harder because every option seems to carry a loss. Even positive change can bring grief, uncertainty and a strange sense of not recognising yourself.
Our work gives you somewhere to slow the process down without being pushed towards a quick answer.
Transitions you might be navigating
-
Moving to a new country, or deciding whether to stay
-
Returning home after years abroad
-
Adjusting to a new language, culture or way of working
-
Career changes, redundancy or starting a new role
-
Relationships beginning, ending or changing shape
-
Coming out, identity shifts or late neurodivergent discovery
-
Changes in health, family roles or caring responsibilities
-
Creative blocks, loss of direction and questions about purpose
Clarity without pretending there’s one perfect choice
The goal isn’t to erase every doubt before you act. Together we identify the fears, values, assumptions and real constraints shaping the decision, and make room for grief about what can’t come with you, even when the change is right. Think of the hero who never asked for the quest and has to go anyway: you don’t have to feel ready to begin.
I draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT and counselling skills to help you respond more flexibly to uncertainty and take steps that reflect what matters.
For expats and internationals, wherever you’ve landed
I moved from London to Madrid over ten years ago, so I know how relocation can affect identity, relationships, confidence, belonging and the very meaning of “home”.
Whether you’re in Madrid, Berlin, Tokyo or somewhere you’re still getting used to, you don’t have to justify why living abroad feels hard when it was also your choice.
What progress can look like:
-
A clearer sense of what the transition means to you
-
More room for mixed feelings without treating them as failure
-
Decisions guided by values rather than panic or avoidance
-
Practical next steps that match your current capacity
-
A steadier sense of continuity while your roles change
